1. Flipped Classroom: - Students of S6 ME (2020-24 batch) are allotted a topic of the syllabus in batches to conduct the flipped classroom. In flipped classroom the student takes the class after prior preparation. The course faculty helps the student in the preparation of the topic. An open discussion is also carried out after the session of the student for further clarification of the topic. Fig 5.5.6. depicts the flipped classroom session of S6 ME students (2020-24 batch).

1. FLIPPED CLASSROOM

Goal

 To promote active engagement and participation among students by shifting the traditional lecture- based instruction to independent study and collaborative activities during class time. Students take responsibility for their own learning and are actively involved in the learning process.  To accommodate diverse learning styles and paces, allowing students to learn at their own pace outside the classroom. Students can review instructional materials, such as pre-recorded lectures or readings, at a time and place that suits them best.

2. Industry-campus synergy programs: - Students are grouped and assigned different industries for industrial visit, so that they get a cumulative idea of different industrial specializations.

1. INDUSTRY-CAMPUS SYNERGY PROGRAMS

Goal

To provide practical exposure, enhance industry awareness, facilitate career exploration, foster networking opportunities, inspire participants, ensure quality assurance, and promote collaboration and partnerships.

Activity

Students are grouped and assigned different industries for industrial visit, so that they get a cumulative idea of different industrial specializations.

3. Project Based learning: - Students are assigned to design and fabricate various link mechanisms such as Toggle Press Mechanism, Scotch Yoke Mechanism, Double Parallelogram, Straight Line mechanism and Approximate Straight Line mechanism from the course MET 301 Mechanics of Machinery and(2019 Regulation) ME 301 Mechanics of Machinery(2015 Regulation) to get a clear understanding of the mechanisms.

1. PROJECT BASED LEARNING

Goal

To provide students with an active and engaging educational experience that emphasizes real-world application, critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and creativity.

4. Earn While You Learn: - A small scale footwear production unit-IMPRINTS started in the campus involves a few students and engages them in project management, production and finance so that they get a hands on experience of business management on the whole.

1. EARN WHILE YOU LEARN-CAMPUS MANUFACTURING FACILITY

Goal

Being in close proximity to a manufacturing unit allows students to observe and understand the operations, machinery, and technologies used in the manufacturing industry. This exposure helps students develop industry-specific skills and insights, which can be valuable when seeking internships or employment in the manufacturing sector.

5. Industry Immersion program: - Students of the class are taken for an industrial visit to demonstrate the electro-discharge machining process in the syllabus of the course so that they have a real time experiential learning of the topic.

1. INDUSTRY IMMERSION PROGRAM

Goal

To provide students with firsthand experience and exposure to real-world industries, allowing them to see how theoretical concepts and principles are applied in practice.

Activity

6. Simulation Based Learning: - Students are given hands on training on MATLAB,ANSYS,CATIA,ON SHAPE,FUSION 360 software.

1. SIMULATION BASED LEARNING

Goal

Allows students to apply theoretical concepts and principles to real-world engineering and scientific problems. By working with simulation tools, students gain practical experience in utilizing software simulations to solve complex problems in their respective fields.

Activity

Students are given hands on training on MATLAB,ANSYS,CATIA,ON SHAPE,FUSION 360 software.

7. Student driven consulting partnerships: - Selected students of the class were given a requirement for a manual machine press from St. Josephs College, Irinjalakuda for their lab and were made to fabricate the same under the guidance of a faculty.

1. STUDENT DRIVEN CONSULTING PARTNERSHIPS

Goal

Consulting partnerships, students can apply their academic knowledge to real-world situations, develop problem-solving and analytical skills, and gain practical experience in a professional setting.
